Dear WFPHA Full and Regional Members,

The World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA) invites Full and Regional member national public health associations in good standing to submit a bid to host the WFPHA’s 15th World Congress on Public Health in 2017. This is the world’s only congress dedicated uniquely to public health. It is an opportunity for the members of the global public health community to meet and share experiences and best practices, and to discuss policy and action on priority public health issues.

The 15th World Congress will be of particular significance as it coincides with the Federation’s 50th anniversary. The WFPHA’s history, activities and achievements will be highlighted at this event.

Congress Hosting Bid Proposal Packet is appended. It provides information about the bidding process and the content for a bid submission. Please contact Laetitia Bourquin at the WFPHA Geneva secretariat office should you have any questions about the submission requirements.

The World Congress on Public Health is a vital component of the Federation. Your association is strongly encouraged to consider submitting a bid.

The deadline for submitting a bid is December 31, 2013. Please complete and return the completed 2017 Congress Bid information along with a provisional budget to the WFPHA Geneva office by email: laetitia.bourquin@unige.ch

Proposals will be reviewed by a Congress Host Selection Committee. The selected host association will be confirmed by the WFPHA Governing Council on May 17, 2014 and announced the following day at the WFPHA Annual General Assembly Meeting.
